State Superintendent Ryan Walters has spent his time in office attacking Oklahoma’s public schools by pitting parents and parents against one another, promoting private school tax credits, and creating culture wars. He has been completely ineffective at facing our public school issues head on and all of Oklahoma is left behind because of it.
Not only is Walters incompetent at his job, but he is now lying to legislators about what is going on in the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) offices. Walters has also sent out emails to his staff that he will fire them if they talk to the press about the internal operations of the office.
Walters claims he is not applying for grants because do not align with ‘Oklahoma values’ but we believe students eating lunch, being protected from bullying, paying teachers a living wage, and investing in every student are Oklahoma values.
Join us in demanding that Ryan Walters put the divisive rhetoric to rest and do his job. It’s time for him to stop playing politics and put our kids first.
